About
Stacy Keltner and Jay Julian founded Write Brain Education in 2017 to address the needs of academic writers at every stage of their careers. In their experience, the most essential skills that student scholars are expected to rely on and demonstrate remain largely underdeveloped by the time students find themselves in need of them. This is because those skills are rarely explicitly taught.
University resources, moreover, often prove unhelpful: composition classes are overcrowded, their faculty overloaded; non-composition courses require, but do not provide, essential skills in research, writing, and editing; and on-campus writing centers developed to fulfill these needs are generally staffed by undergraduate students with little writing experience themselves.
Students thus find that they are unprepared academically, even several years into their degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, leading to unnecessary frustrations, delayed graduation dates, and increased debt. The impact of this gap in education is also felt by graduates who may be required to research, write, and present material for their jobs or who want to pursue careers that require these skills.
Write Brain Education helps writers (from across the disciplines and at various stages of their careers) to become better, more effective writers and communicators. Stacy and Jay have 45 years combined experience working with university students, scholars, and graduates on research, writing, and editing and now offer a variety of services tailored to individual needs, including private tutoring and instruction, writing consulting and editing, and intensive courses. Services are available both online and face-to-face in the Atlanta Metro area.
